The end of 2020 has come and passed and end of year awards have been given. Game of the year was given to Natughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part 2 the continuation of The Last Of Us in 2013. However a lot of good games came out in 2020 Fall Guys, Cyberpunk 2077, and Call of Duty Cold war; but Call of Duty has never won game of the year. But why did The Last Of Us Part 2.

The Last of Us Part 2 was to continue the story of Joel and Ellie after escaping the FIreflies with Ellie and he lied to Ellie. Now the game picks up a few years later when She is older. They are now Living in a large compound with other people. There are new characters among the few from the first game. There’s Ellies Ex Jesse and her new friend Dinna. But can picking up an old story from seven years ago be enough for Game of the year.

“Yes I think the Last Of Us was a great game and deserved game of the year” says sophomore Alex Davis.

Another game that came out last year was Cyberpunk 2077 which was highly anticipated game sense 2011. However when it did drop it was a glitchy mess that barley functioned and couldn’t work. But the story and the choices will impact how to play the game and the ending you will revive and that’s always appreciated in games.

“I think Cyberpunk was a bad game in my opinion.” said sophomore Alex Davis.

Fall Guy is one of the Many Battle royale that was just trend hopping on battle royale. Instead of beginning a shooter battle royale its a platomring party game. It was filled with different foot races and team games or survival games. But it’s not that different to most other battle royale outlast other people and be the last man standing nothing new here.

“Fall guys was fun at the time of its release but it kind of lost being fun after a while.” says sophomore Alex Davis.

So did The Last of Us part 2 Disever game of the year continue one of the best story games made in 2010’s. After the first Last Of Us all story games learned how to be a story game. But whether or not you liked The Last Of Us Part 2 it won game of the year and if you think it delivered it is up to you.
