Are You Ready For it?

On March 17, 2023 Taylor Swift set off for the U.S leg of her “Eras” tour at the Glendale stadium in Arizona. Swift released four previously unreleased songs at midnight on the 17th. In preparation for the tour, she has been running sound checks and even shared a set of photos on her social media, of course featuring her infamous side eye. In Swift’s post she also featured a photo of her nails with the colors corresponding to her albums.

Swift’s tour is not called the “Eras” tour for no reason, the star will be pulling songs from each album giving her a colorful variety when constructing her set-list. Given that Swift is known for her eccentric and wild performances, it is absolutely no surprise that her parents have re-created the sparkly guitar she used on her Fearless tour in 2012. On top of this Swift took it upon herself to DIY her father his own special all access pass that says,”Dad of Headliner”.

Given that this is her “Eras” tour, fans are going all out with their outfits. On platforms like TikTok and Instagram, fans have flaunted their recreations of some of her most iconic outfits. But, per usual, Swift came and gave fans everything and more with her 13 outfit changes. That is not all Swift brought to the stage, she also came ready with 44 songs on her setlist including “Cruel Summer”, “Fearless”, “Delicate”, “Vigilante Sh**”, and “Tim McGraw”. This allowed for Swift’s opening night to last around three hours.

“I really like the concept of singing songs from every single album because there’s so many people who couldn’t see her because of Covid. Her openers for the tour are so good, I’m hyped for Taylor but Phoebe Bridgers and Gracie Abrams? It’s amazing,” freshman Bria Frankart commented.

Swift opened with “Miss Americana and the Heart-break Prince” which then led into five more songs from her Lover album. She strutted onto stage in custom Versace that was bejeweled with silver holographic sequins. For “The Man” she threw on a shimmery silver blazer to match her boots, creating a chic look.

A part that has stood out to fans is the Folklore act. Appearing in a long, flowy, dusty purple gown she performed seven songs from the album: “Invisible String”, “Betty”, “Illicit Affairs”, “August”, “My Tears Ricochet”,”The Last Great American Dynasty”, and “Cardigan”.

“I think it’s really good, her dress is just amazing. Her voice sounds especially strong and healthy during ‘Illicit Affairs’,” freshman Gillian Faisant said.

It was also a pleasant surprise when Swift performed songs from her neglected album, Evermore. While sitting at her moss covered piano she made a sassy remark regarding what fans say about her forgetting the album on social media.

Swift definitely made the room shimmer when she appeared in a gold fringed dress carrying a bedazzled guitar for the Fearless act. While Speak Now did not get as much attention as fans may have hoped, she did appear in a full ball gown dress which was very similar to the Valentino one she wore on her Speak Now Tour.

“Everything I’ve heard about the tour has been amazing, and 44 songs? That’s like a three hour concert. She’s just amazing,” sophomore Owen Hackworth said.

Given that her tour will run until August 9, 2023 there are so many more outfits and surprises to be expected from the singer.
