55 year old charged with stalking. January 14, 2025, 55 year old Michael Thomas Lewis was arrested in Denton Texas, the man is being charged with felony stalking 22 year old WNBA star Caitlyn Clark. It seemed to be Caitlyn had messages that she had been receiving from the harasser prior to his arrest the messages show examples of threats alongside with other sexually explicit messages.
Lewis was then held on a 50,000 bond following a disruptive entrance in court in Indianapolis on Tuesday January 14. During Lewis’s hearing he made multiple outbursts such as “Guilty as charged”, “Im free” and, “ I guess you guys got the wrong guy.” When asked by the court it was stated that Lewis suffers from mental illness, Lewis then responded with “I need my medicines.”
Although Lewis did not hire an attorney. Davis assigned him a public defender who entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf. She ordered him to stay away from Gainbridge Fieldhouse where the fever played games from Butler basketball arena Hinkle Fieldhouse. Clarks boyfriend Conner Mcafferey is an assistant coach at Butler.
“I don't want bond, bail, whatever,” Lewis then told the court he has no intentions of posting bond he stated, “I'm here. I'm staying.”
Prosecutors said they were seeking a higher than standard bond since Lewis traveled from his home in texas to indianapolis “with intent to be in close proximity to the victim” Lewis was held on a 50,000 bond and if his bond is posted hr will be required to wear an ankle monitor and remain in Indiana. The court also filed a not guilty plea on Lewis' behalf, Judge Angela Davis suggested Lewis ‘remain silent’ in jail and only speak with his attorney.
Police records show that Lewis was charged with level 5 felony and could face up to 6 years in prison and a 10,000 fine. In court Lewis stated that he lives in his vehicle, which he also drove to Indianapolis. Lewis was then apprehended at an Indianapolis hotel after posting multiple explicit messages on social media and tagging Clark in the caption.
