Early October calls for the NBA preseason starting in full swing. The NBA preseason was a chance for players to get warmed up and back into the rhythm of playing multiple games during the week.

The preseason also gave a chance for rookies to showcase their talent against more experienced players like Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis.

The Los Angeles Lakers took on the Golden State Warriors to close out week one of the preseason. Both teams displayed their athletic ability with Stephen Curry scoring 24 points for the Warriors and Anthony Davis scoring 28 points for the Lakers after being out due to his injury.

“In the first half, Davis performed at the level the Lakers will need him if they are to improve on last season’s 33-49 regular-season record that left them out of the postseason,” Sportsnet stated.

The Milwaukee Bucks already caught the attention of the press with their potential of being dominant during the regular season. That potential is from star player Giannis Antetokounmpo being in his prime and having led the Greek national team to the quarter-final at Eurobasket.

“Milwaukee enters the 2022-23 season with the third highest odds–behind last year’s two finals teams, Boston and the Golden State Warriors,” ESPN news writer James Collier said.

With the NBA trade deadline approaching there is a possibility that athletes will sign to a different team, including San Antonio Spurs guard Josh Richardson. Richardson is in the final year of his contract with the Spurs, leaving other teams like the New York Knicks, Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies to see him as a viable option.

“Richardson is an interesting, versatile player that could be a great asset for a team trying to add depth to their roster ahead of the playoffs,” Fansided reporter Micheal Saez said.

The NBA preseason remains a large part of sports media hype that the league is known for, as they bring in billions of dollars each year.
