The highly anticipated horror movie “Smile 2” will hit theaters on October 18, 2024. Written and directed by Parker Finn, who also helmed the original, this sequel aims to deliver even more spine-tingling moments.
The original “Smile” movie is a horror/mystery movie that revolves around Dr. Rose Cotter, who has a traumatic incident involving a patient. She has seven days to figure out how to successfully evade death from a demon after witnessing her patient’s disease.
“I think this will be a good movie. I’m glad they are making a sequel because the first movie was a good movie, but was dragged on a little at the end,” freshman Claire White said.
The sequel movie will be based off of main character, Skye Riley, who experiences extremely terrifying and mystifying events. The cast includes Naomi Scott, Rosemarie DeWitt, Kyle Gallner, and Lukas Gage. Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control.
“The Smile movie was a good movie. It was a little bit creepy but not too bad. If you are into suspense / thriller movies, you should definitely watch Smile. I will probably be watching the second one,” freshman Presley Abbott said.
The advertisement for “Smile 2” has already started at the VMAS. The way that they advertise this movie is by having people in public do the creepy smile that is done in the movie. They sent actors to a baseball game and morning shows to do the creepy smile for as long as possible.
“The way that they advertise is very creepy. Imagine being at a baseball game and you see someone creepily smiling like that,” freshman Claire White said.
