Trick-or-treating has been a popular Halloween tradition since the 1920s. This year, kids in our community will
once again reveal their favorite costumes and collect sweet treats from neighbors and friends. Here’s everything
you need to know to make this Halloween a night to remember!
Trick or treat this year will take place this year on October 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The sun will set at around 6:40 p.m. so it would be wise to bring a flashlight and a candy bag!
“I’m so excited, I can’t wait for all of the tasty candy,” freshman Cayden Droll stated. Freshman Briley Wellington continues by saying, “Being a part of a group costume is one of my favorite things about halloween.”
Why do skeletons hate the cold? Because it sends a chill up their spine! When picking out a costume be considerate of the weather. If you’re unsure, consider going as a ghost- It’s cheap, easy, and warm!
“I will be stylish but I will bring layers to stay warm,” junior Gabriella Flick stated.
Only 70% of kids in the United States go trick-or-treating each year. So make it 100% and have fun! Leave passing out candy to the adults.
“I would rather trick-or-treat because dressing up makes me feel like a young child again,” junior Gabriella Flick said.
Want the biggest candy ever? Go to South Main Street. Not only do they have scary and festive decorations, but the majority of families also hand out full-size candy bars! Some of these include Hershey’s, Snickers, Reese’s,
KitKats, Skittles, and more.
“I either like Swedish Fish or Skittles,” freshman Cayden Droll said.
“My favorite candy is Reeses Peanut Butter Cups,” freshman Gianna Howard stated.
What did the mummy say after the article was over? That’s a wrap! So don’t be a bummy and go trick or treating this year!
