Findlay High School Creative and Performing Arts is presenting the fall show “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” November 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. and November 10 at 2:00 p.m. in FHS’ R. L. Heminger Auditorium. Tickets for the evening performances are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets for the Sunday matinee performance are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at https://theatre.findlaycityschools.org/home.
This play consists of six spellers and nine adults. Both have a very important part of the story and will have to work their hardest. Students and directors have high expectations for the cast members.
“Well I think the cast will be hard working and will work to the best of their abilities,” Emma Shindeldecker stated.
Each cast member has different little quirks to them; main director Andrew Cantrell states what he thinks about it.
“They all have their own little elements to them, and to see how those characters grow and change over the course of the show is really interesting,” director Andrew Cantrell stated.
The members of this play have an awesome surprise for the audience, and it may bring some conflict with the cast. It will definitely keep the viewers on the edge of their seats.
“The other fun thing is, when we get to the actual performances, each performance will have four guest spellers that we pull out of the audience at random,” Cantrell stated. “The cast has to be on their toes because of those guest spellers. If they spell a word correctly that we think that they’re going to miss, the cast has to know how to react and keep the show moving forward.”
Findlay High School students are excited for this performance and what they will bring to the table.
“I’m super excited to see what the Findlay program has to show,” freshman Emma Shindeldecker states.
The play’s directors, Andrew Cantrell, Tim Montgomery, Ashley Carey, and Dan Basinger don’t have any concerns for the cast and are excited to see what they’ve put together.
“I don’t have any concerns about the cast. I think that we have a strong cast that we’ve put together,” Mr. Cantrell stated.
Get excited and tell the cast members to break a leg!
