Findlay High School prom will be held on May 11, from 8 to 10 that evening. Juniors and seniors are able to attend Saturday at the University of Findlay in the student union hall. Tickets are 15 dollars for FHS students and are 25 for guests. Tickets for guests were due a week before.
The theme this year for prom has been voted Hollywood. Upperclassmen are encouraged to wear their best outfits for the red carpet. Some have thoughts on the theme, finding it uninteresting. Every year there are a handful of concepts to vote on.
“I personally think the theme is a little stupid but at the same time that’s the point of prom,” junior Jackson Jotch said.
Prom is important for upperclassmen. Being able to hang out with friends and spend time with their partners is a priority. Along with that is being able to get out with people
“Prom isn’t super serious so it’s not worth worrying that much about the theme. It’s just a fun thing to do in high school even if it is an unfavorable theme,” junior Jackson Jotch continued.
Students are excited for prom this year and plenty of people bought their outfits very far in advance. It’s very easy to find social media suggestions for what to wear to prom. Things like the 2010s’ duct tape dresses and now Easter dresses adorned in soft colors and floral prints are easy to find online.
“Prom is really exciting. I bought my dresses a while ago and I found two that were softer pinks.” junior Lexi Radabaugh said.
Saturday will be quite the memory for the juniors and seniors here at Findlay High School. Seniors have big things to look forward to at their last prom. Thank the student leadership for their hard work and look out for the lovely outfits and prom court tomorrow night.
