For many generations, Americans have celebrated many fun holidays, with each their own traditions with friends and family. The most popular holidays are Christmas and Halloween, but which really is the better of the two; Christmas or Halloween?
“I prefer Christmas, because I like all the gifts and spending time with all of my family and friends,” sophomore Serenity Savage says.
Many people enjoy spending time with family and friends for the holidays. Some other traditional events for the holidays include baking cookies, decorating the Christmas tree, and Christmas gift exchanges. However, Halloween has far fewer traditions to participate in.
“I prefer Halloween, because you get candy and you get to dress up,” junior Sidney Myers says.
Some people enjoy Halloween more than Christmas because of trick-or-treating and dressing up, Halloween parties with family and friends, or even sitting by a campfire watching scary movies. Halloween and Christmas are two very different holidays, with very different traditions.
“I personally think Christmas is the better holiday because students get a longer break. You spend more time with your family, and you can also make snow angels, go snowboarding, and drink hot cocoa,” sophomore Delaney Harris says.
Overall, Halloween and Christmas are both fun holidays, and the traditions of each are fun to celebrate with family and friends. Students tend to pick Christmas over Halloween, with their main reasons being the longer break and gift exchanges.
