Aaron Carter
Aaron Carter, singer songwriter who gained fame in the early 2000’s, was found dead in his home on November 5. His cause of death is yet to be determined.
“It’s pretty sad considering how young he was. Things were just starting to turn around for him too,” freshman Mckenzie Milam said.
Carter began his career at the age of 7 and sang for the band Dead End for 2 years. He released his first album at 9 and then began to make appearances in magazines and on teen shows. Carter then went on to release “Aaron’s Party” which earned the spot of number 4 on billboard charts. He was also a contestant on Dancing With the Stars.
Carter appeared in a Lizzie McGuire episode in 2001 and starred in the 2005 romantic comedy, Popstar.
He appeared in other movies and television shows. He mainly focused on music before abandoning his career as an artist for 15 years.
In 2018 he released his album Love, the album did not receive the reaction that was hoped for. This is the last album that was released before his passing. However his album Blacklisted was released 2 days after his death on November 7.
Carter has struggled with his mental and physical health as well as addiction and even claimed to have had 100 seizures from “huffing and dusting”. Carter’s fiance Melanie Martin had signed him up for rehab therapy sessions and was scheduled to begin attending on the Friday before he was discovered. Martin had received a call from the service about Carter’s absence and had to break the news over the phone.
Carter’s family does not believe foul play was involved and his death was accidental. According to his family life was looking good for him. Carter had appointments with a social worker and a family therapist in order to heighten the chances of becoming a more active figure in his son Prince’s life.
Martin is doing her best to remain strong for their son and it can be assumed that his family is also doing their best to deal with the tragedy they have been faced with.
