Stepping up into the spotlight

“Nothing succeeds like ‘Succeed!’”! This March Findlay High School students will be performing ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’. With the new musical comes a new face; Mr. Manley will be joining the musical as the new music director. Mr. Manley said that he had wanted to work on the high school’s musicals for twenty years and when he got the chance to step up to the position, he was ecstatic.

Mr. Manley has worked on musicals in the past at North Baltimore and at the Findlay Light Opera. He is not worried about the new addition to his busy schedule and says that Findlay First Edition rehearses in the evening so there would be no issues since the musical rehearsal is always in the afternoon.

Mr. Manley is most excited to be working with the orchestra.

“I think it’s good for the kids to know that even though I’m the choir director that I can do other things. It’s good for them to see me in that role and know that you’re not just singer but that you can do other things as well,” Manley said.

The new music director is very excited to be working on this musical due to it giving him another role in the music department that he can continue to help students. Make sure to come and see Mr. Manley and the rest of the cast in March!
